The Milton Experience, Part Two: Dorinda's Prayer Garden

This is the second spot you would see on your journey if you decided to travel the "backroads" of Milton, Georgia.  If you blink, you'll pass this one by just like Charles Day's Barber Shop, but if you've lived here a long time then you probably wonder as I have about to whom does this place belong and how long has it been there?

So back in March of 2008, I stopped to ask.  I met Dorinda, mostly known as Dee to her friends around here.  Dee has her own small chapel behind this little garden which she showed to me.  This place actually sits on a main thoroughfare though and not a small road.

As I drive by each day, I always remember stopping to say hello or wave as I drive by if I happen to see her.  It's heartwarming to know that I can wish them well as I drive by these "neighbors" because we've met.  I would say that because of where her house sits so close to Birmingham Crossroads, Dorinda's garden is just perfect so close to the road.  It's her Art.

I often think of bringing flowers and leaving them by the gate.
